A meeting was held at the Ministry of Health of Azerbaijan with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Cuba to our country, Carlos Enrique Valdés de la Concepción.

Greeting the guests, Minister of Health Teymur Musayev emphasized that cooperation between Azerbaijan and Cuba in the field of healthcare and medical science, as in all other areas, is exemplary. Teymur Musayev recalled the visit of a delegation from the Ministry of Health to the friendly country in 2023 and their meeting with Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz: “During the visit, a number of important and productive meetings were held. The delegation visited leading medical and pharmaceutical institutions of the Republic of Cuba and got acquainted with their activities. In addition, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Public Health of the Republic of Cuba.”

In conclusion, the Minister of Health of Azerbaijan expressed confidence that future cooperation will be even more effective.

In turn, Carlos Enrique Valdés de la Concepción noted that Cuba places special emphasis on the development of relations with Azerbaijan: “There are close ties between Azerbaijan and Cuba in many areas. Diplomatic relations between our countries were established in 1992. Since then, the mutual relations between the states of Cuba and Azerbaijan have developed with positive momentum.”

Highlighting the importance of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Ministries of Health of the two friendly countries, the Cuban ambassador emphasized that this document will contribute to strengthening bilateral relations in the field of healthcare and medical science.

The meeting also included an exchange of views on other issues of mutual interest.
