Within the framework of COP29, a meeting was held between the health ministers of Azerbaijan and Georgia
A meeting between the health ministers of Azerbaijan and Georgia took place during the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29).
In his speech, Minister of Health of Azerbaijan Teymur Musayev emphasized that the historical and cultural ties between the Azerbaijani and Georgian peoples form the foundation of the relationship between the two countries. According to the Minister, the traditional friendship between the two nations has lasted for centuries. He also highlighted the importance of high-level reciprocal visits, stating, “The friendship between the heads of state makes an invaluable contribution to the development and strengthening of close cooperation in all areas.”
Furthermore, the potential for expanding bilateral relations in the field of health between Azerbaijan and Georgia was emphasized. The Minister pointed out that both countries have ample opportunities for modern methodological and scientific-practical exchanges in continuous professional education for their top medical specialists.
Teymur Musayev also underscored the significance and relevance of the issues discussed at COP29, noting the important role of the global health community in responding to the impacts of climate change and contributing to the improvement of global health security.
In conclusion, the Minister of Health of Azerbaijan expressed confidence that bilateral cooperation between the two countries would continue to develop further.
In turn, the Minister of Internally Displaced Persons from Occupied Territories, Labour, Health, and Social Protection of Georgia, Mikheil Sarjveladze, emphasized the high level of intergovernmental relations and noted the existence of historical and traditional friendship between the two countries.
Mikheil Sarjveladze highlighted the high-level organization of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) and emphasized Azerbaijan’s special role in shaping the COP29 agenda.
He also noted interest in establishing effective cooperation with the Ministry of Health of Azerbaijan.
During the meeting, discussions were held on the training of qualified personnel in the healthcare sector and other related issues.
