The Ministry of Health continues its series of events in the liberated territories within the framework of the "Great Return" program aimed at conducting comprehensive examinations of the population related to the detection of various diseases, providing medical consultations, and ensuring health satisfaction. At the same time, educational actions and presentations on healthy lifestyle topics are held to increase the medical knowledge and awareness of the population.

The next event organized by the Ministry took place in the city of Lachin on April 6. During the campaign, medical services were provided to the district population by the medical team of the Scientific Research Institute of Pulmonary Diseases within the framework of the "Early Detection of Lung Diseases" program.

The purpose of the campaign is to improve the health of the population residing in the liberated territories through regular mobile medical examinations. Additionally, the event aims to provide support and assistance in maintaining the health of the residents of the Lachin region, as well as to educate them about the key aspects of lung health and preventive measures.

Under the leadership of Director Irada Akhundova of the Scientific Research Institute of Pulmonary Diseases, a team of medical professionals, including pulmonologists, physiatrists, and cardiologists, conducted comprehensive examinations of the population. Diagnostic examinations included X-rays of the chest organs, assessment of external respiratory functions using spirometry, as well as electrocardiography, echocardiography, Mantoux test, and analysis of arterial blood gases.

As a result of the examinations, individuals with health problems were provided with medical advice and prescribed appropriate treatment.

During the campaign, nearly 150 residents of Lachin underwent five separate medical examinations each. Following the examinations, an educational event was organized for the public of Lachin aimed at promoting a healthy lifestyle.

Director Irada Akhundova delivered a comprehensive presentation, emphasizing that timely diagnostics and regular preventive examinations help prevent diseases or start treatment at an early stage of pathology development. Additionally, the importance of preventive measures in preventing lung diseases and optimizing respiratory system functionality was highlighted to the community. According to the director, modern diagnostics allow for the timely detection of respiratory system pathologies and early identification of diseases. The necessity of adhering to the principles of a healthy lifestyle and avoiding harmful habits such as smoking was also emphasized.

Furthermore, Dr. Aysel Aslanova, a physician-physiatrist at the Institute, presented on the topic of "What Do We Know About Lung Diseases?" She provided general information about diseases such as asthma, pneumonia, and those related to smoking, including their initial diagnosis, clinical features, and early symptoms.

Information was provided about the "smart" X-ray machine, one of the most modern examination methods used by the Institute for screening purposes. Additionally, valuable information on lung diseases and prevention was provided to the local population during the event, accompanied by informative visual materials. Towards the end, questions from participants were addressed.

It should be noted that the Ministry of Health plans to continue conducting educational events and screening campaigns in other liberated territories on a regular basis.
