A meeting was held at the Ministry of Health with Kelly Willis, the managing director, and Martin Edlund, the chief executive officer of the “Malaria No More” organization. Greeting the guests, Minister of Health Teymur Musayev recalled that in March of last year, the World Health Organization certified Azerbaijan as a “malaria-free” country. According to him, success in the fight against malaria was also made possible thanks to the comprehensive support of international partners over many years.

The minister also noted that in November of this year, our country will host the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP29) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. Emphasizing that 2024 has been declared the “Year of Solidarity for a Green World” by a corresponding decree of the head of state, Teymur Musayev mentioned that several events at both national and global levels this year have been dedicated to addressing the negative impacts of climate change. The minister highlighted that the Global Summit on "Forecasting Healthy Futures" held in Baku was a successful platform for discussing climate change and its effects on human health. Additionally, it was noted that the summit provided an opportunity for cooperation among experts in the climate sectors.

In turn, Kelly Willis and Martin Edlund highly appreciated the measures taken by Azerbaijan to eliminate malaria in the country. The leadership of the “Malaria No More” organization also congratulated Azerbaijan on being selected to host such a prestigious event as COP29. According to them, Azerbaijan, as the host of COP29, has the opportunity to advance health as an important part of climate policy and to promote the investment agenda. The importance of the Global Summit on "Forecasting Healthy Futures" held in Baku was also acknowledged.

In conclusion, there was an exchange of views on other matters of mutual interest.
