The meeting of the Ministers of Health of Azerbaijan and Russia was held at the Ministry of Health
A meeting was held at the Ministry of Health of Azerbaijan with the Minister of Health of Russia, Mikhail Murashko. The meeting took place within the framework of the working visit of the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, to Azerbaijan.
Welcoming the guests, the Minister of Health of Azerbaijan, Teymur Musayev, emphasized that cooperation between Azerbaijan and Russia is successfully developing both bilaterally and multilaterally. The importance of high-level reciprocal visits in expanding bilateral relations was also noted. "The friendly relations between the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, and the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, make an invaluable contribution to the development and strengthening of close cooperation in all areas. The awarding of the 'Order of Friendship' to Pyotr Glybochko, Rector of the First Moscow State Medical University named after I.M. Sechenov, is clear evidence of this."
Teymur Musayev highlighted the successful cooperation between the countries in the field of healthcare and also recalled his Russian counterpart's visit to Baku in 2021: "During that meeting, the 'Updated Cooperation Agreement in the Field of Healthcare and Medical Science' was signed between the countries. This document plays a significant role in strengthening bilateral relations in the development of healthcare between the countries and also contributes to the advancement of medical science."
Expressing his gratitude for the warm welcome, Russia's Minister of Health, Mikhail Murashko, noted the successful cooperation between the two countries. He emphasized the existing effective collaboration between Russia and Azerbaijan in the fields of healthcare and medical education, and highlighted the importance of the Baku branch of the First Moscow State Medical University named after I.M. Sechenov. "The opening of the first branch of the best Russian medical university, according to international rankings, in Azerbaijan was realized with the support of President Ilham Aliyev and the initiative of Azerbaijan’s First Vice President, Mehriban Aliyeva, who is an alumnus and honorary professor of Sechenov University."
During the meeting, the future directions of cooperation were also discussed.
