The Ministry of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan urges citizens to be vaccinated against measles
Since April of last year, measles infections associated with imported cases from other countries have caused local spread of infection in various regions of Azerbaijan. The analysis of the epidemiological situation reveals that the majority of those infected have never been vaccinated against measles and have not had the disease.
In this regard, post-epidemic and preventive measures continue to be implemented in Azerbaijan. Accordingly, vaccination of children up to 10 years old is carried out continuously based on the Preventive Vaccination Schedule approved by the Ministry of Health across the country.
Considering that vaccination is the most effective way to prevent measles infection, the Ministry of Health once again appeals to the population and urges individuals aged 11-40, who are susceptible to measles, to be vaccinated against the infection.
For vaccination, individuals can apply to medical institutions providing outpatient and polyclinic services in residential areas.
