As previously reported, a two-day working visit of the delegation led by Turkish Health Minister Fahrettin Kocan has started today.

Within the framework of the Turkish delegation's visit, a meeting was held with the Ministry of Health of Azerbaijan delegation.

An exchange of views took place on the successful development of multilateral relations between the two fraternal countries, cooperation in the healthcare field and the implementation of joint projects.

In his opening speech, Minister of Health Teymur Musayev noted that cooperation in the field of healthcare and medical science, as in all areas of cooperation between the two fraternal countries, is exemplary.

Teymur Musayev emphasized that the digitalization of the healthcare system is one of the main priorities of the Ministry of Health: "Within the framework of the working visit of our delegation to Türkiye in May of the current year, we had many discussions and meetings with our Turkish colleagues in the field of digital healthcare. Türkiye’s experience in this area is invaluable, and its model is the world's leading one."

Addressing the issue of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Minister of Health emphasized that cooperation between our countries has become more intense during this period.

In his speech, Teymur Musayev noted that after the restoration of Azerbaijan's independence, broad cooperation had been established between our countries in all areas, including healthcare: "A striking example of this is the Azerbaijani-Turkish Medical Business Forum and Exhibition organized for the first time in our country. We believe our cooperation will continue and strengthen, and the medical forum will create new opportunities for investors."

At the end of his speech, Teymur Musayev expressed hope that the joint medical business forum would become an annual event.

Expressing his gratitude for the warm welcome, Fahrettin Koca emphasized that fraternal relations between Azerbaijan and Türkiye are based on solid foundations. They are a clear indicator of our unity and solidarity.

The Turkish Minister stressed that our countries had established close cooperation in healthcare. Fahrettin Koca recalled that in May of the current year, a "Roadmap for cooperation between the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Türkiye and the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan for the period 2022-2023" was signed. Emphasizing the importance of the Roadmap for future cooperation, Fahrettin Koca noted that the signed document would play an essential role in developing the healthcare sector in Türkiye and Azerbaijan.

At the end of his speech, Fahrettin Koca invited his Azerbaijani colleague to the Medical Congress of the Turkic World, which will be held in Istanbul in October.

It should be noted that, within the framework of the visit of the delegation of the Ministry of Health of Türkiye, a visit is planned to the pearl of Karabakh and the cultural capital of Azerbaijan - the city of Shusha.
