A meeting with a delegation led by the Ambassador of Denmark to our country was held at the Ministry of Health of Azerbaijan
A meeting was held at the Ministry of Health with a delegation led by the non-resident Ambassador of Denmark to the Republic of Azerbaijan, Danny Annan. Honorary Consul of Denmark in Azerbaijan Arnoud Gouvard and representatives of the leading Danish pharmaceutical company Novo Nordisk also participated in the meeting.
In his speech, Minister of Health Teymur Musayev noted that the cooperation between our countries in various fields, including the field of healthcare, has developed dynamically in recent years: "Denmark is one of those countries where healthcare is given special attention. There are all the necessary conditions for the exchange of innovative methodological and scientific-practical information in the field of continuing education of medical specialists in our countries. In addition, the Azerbaijan Medical University actively cooperates with the University of Copenhagen."
Teymur Musayev also highlighted that there are vast opportunities for developing relations between countries in the field of pharmaceuticals: “Pharmaceutical industry is one of the most important sectors for the economy of any country, and its level of development characterizes a perfectly organized healthcare system. The pharmaceutical industry in Denmark, with a developed research is rightfully considered one of the best in the world.”
In turn, Danny Annan stressed that Denmark attaches great importance to strengthening bilateral relations with Azerbaijan. Noting the expansion of commercial and economic ties between our countries, the Ambassador also expressed his country's interest in raising the level of cooperation with Azerbaijan in the field of healthcare and medical science.
The head of the Novo Nordisk office in Azerbaijan, Gulshaba Abbasova, noted the successful implementation of joint projects in our country, including projects with medical centres under the Ministry of Health. It was pointed out that Novo Nordisk, which will celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2023, is a global pharmaceutical company, and at the same time, it is a world leader in the development and manufacture of drugs for the treatment of diabetes: "The main goal of the company is to contribute to the fight against diabetes and other serious chronic diseases."
During the meeting, which was held in the spirit of constructive dialogue and mutual understanding, the parties discussed new prospects for developing and strengthening cooperation in the pharmaceutical industry.
