A meeting was held at the Ministry of Health of Azerbaijan with representatives of Roche Diagnostics, Switzerland's leading company producing medical equipment.

Health Minister Teymur Musayev emphasized that Azerbaijan and Switzerland are friendly and partner countries. According to him, our country attaches particular importance to deepening cooperation with Switzerland, as one of the first states that recognized the independence of Azerbaijan: "Regular meetings of heads of state, as well as mutual visits of government members, play a crucial role in the development of relations between the two countries in various areas."

The minister also noted the existence of productive cooperative relations between our countries in the field of healthcare. According to him, the Swiss healthcare system, which includes highly qualified doctors and modernized medical facilities, is recognized as an exemplary model worldwide. In addition, Switzerland is one of the world's leading countries in the production and sale of pharmaceutical and medical equipment.

In turn, Jordi Fernandez, general manager of Roche Diagnostics for Turkey, Central Asia and the Caucasus region, and Hasan Demirci, the head of the company for Central Asia and the Caucasus, expressed interest in developing cooperation with Azerbaijan. It was noted that Roche Diagnostics is a leading manufacturer of biotechnological products to treat cancer, viral infections, autoimmune inflammatory diseases, and disorders of the central nervous system and metabolism.

Representatives of Roche Diagnostics also expressed their willingness to share their experience in this field with local experts.

At the meeting, an exchange of views took place on expanding cooperation in the field of healthcare and medical science, implementing joint projects and other issues of mutual interest.
