A meeting was held at the Ministry of Health of Azerbaijan with the Ambassador of Cuba
A meeting was held at the Ministry of Health with Carlos Enrique Valdes de la Concepcion, the extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of Cuba to our country. Welcoming the guests, Minister of Health Teymur Musayev emphasized that effective cooperation between Azerbaijan and Cuba continues successfully both bilaterally and multilaterally. Teymur Musayev noted the exceptional role of the heads of state in the development of friendly relations between our peoples.
According to the minister, as in all areas, cooperation between Azerbaijan and Cuba in the fields of health and medical science is exemplary. Highlighting that Cuba’s national health system is one of the best in the world, Teymur Musayev recalled the visit of the Ministry of Health’s delegation to the friendly state last November and their meeting with Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz: “During the visit, a number of significant and productive meetings took place. The delegation visited leading medical and pharmaceutical institutions of the Republic of Cuba and familiarized themselves with their activities. Additionally, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Public Health of the Republic of Cuba. This document will contribute to strengthening the health systems of the two friendly countries, as well as to the improvement of public health.”
In turn, Carlos Enrique Valdes de la Concepcion noted that Cuba pays special attention to developing relations with Azerbaijan: “There are close relations between Azerbaijan and Cuba in many areas. Diplomatic relations between our countries have been established since 1992. During this period, the mutual relations between the states of Cuba and Azerbaijan have developed with positive dynamics.”
In conclusion, the Cuban ambassador emphasized the importance of dynamic cooperation in the field of health, as in all other areas. During the meeting, views were also exchanged on other issues of mutual interest.
