A meeting was held with the head of the Türkiye-Azerbaijan inter-parliamentary friendship group at the Ministry of Health
A meeting with the delegation led by Shamil Ayrim, head of the Türkiye-Azerbaijan inter-parliamentary friendship group, was held at the Ministry of Health. Ahliman Amiraslanov, head of the Azerbaijan-Türkiye inter-parliamentary relations working group of the Milli Majlis, also participated in the meeting.
Welcoming the guests, Minister of Health Teymur Musayev emphasized that our nations share deep historical roots and spiritual and cultural values: "Türkiye and Azerbaijan have shown their support to each other in the most challenging periods of their history. Türkiye's strong political and moral support to Azerbaijan during the 44-day Patriotic War is a vivid example. Sincere friendship and fraternal relations between our heads of state serve to deepen further cooperation in all fields, including the field of health."
In his speech, the minister noted that specialists working in the medical centers of the brotherly country have exceptional services in training professional personnel in all fields of medicine in Azerbaijan: "I would like to emphasize the support of our Turkish colleagues during the Patriotic War. In addition, we worked closely together during the most challenging period of the COVID-19 pandemic. Türkish specialists' valuable recommendations contributed to stabilizing the epidemiological situation in Azerbaijan.
Teymur Musaev also recalled that effective cooperation had been established between the Health Ministries of the two countries in recent years: "In May of last year, a delegation of the Ministry of Health of Azerbaijan visited Türkiye for a working visit. During the visit, we had fruitful discussions with the Minister of Health of Türkiye, Fahrettin Koca, and got acquainted with the activities of the leading medical institutions of our brotherly country. In addition, as part of the visit, the Roadmap for cooperation between the Ministries of Health of our countries for 2022-2023 was signed. I believe the signed document will play an important role in developing the healthcare sector in Türkiye and Azerbaijan."
The minister also emphasized that 2023 was declared the "Year of Heydar Aliyev" by the corresponding Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev: "The development of health care and training of medical personnel in our country is connected with the name of the great leader Heydar Aliyev. The Ministry of Health will organize a series of events and international scientific-practical conferences in connection with the 100th anniversary of the birth of a great leader who left a bright and indelible mark on the history of the modern world. The participation of Türkish expert specialists in the field of medicine is significant for us."
Expressing his gratitude for the warm welcome, the head of the Türkiye-Azerbaijan inter-parliamentary friendship group noted that the bilateral friendly and brotherly relations between our countries are thriving in all fields: "Azerbaijan-Türkiye brotherly relations, which are based on solid foundations, are a clear indicator of our unity and solidarity."
