A meeting was held at the Ministry of Health with the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Ukraine to our country, Yuriy Husyev.
After welcoming the guests, Minister of Health Teymur Musayev emphasized the successful development of bilateral relations between our countries. The Minister also noted that since the restoration of the independence of our countries, friendly relations have been formed between Azerbaijan and Ukraine, and there are effective bilateral ties: “The organization of a rehabilitation course for Ukrainian children aged 7 to 17 who have been left without parental care at the Ministry of Health's Sanatorium and Rehabilitation Center, with the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the Ministry of Health of Azerbaijan, is a vivid confirmation of this.”
Teymur Musayev also pointed out the vast potential for developing relations between the two countries in the field of healthcare.
Emphasizing that President Ilham Aliyev attaches great importance to the development of national healthcare, the Minister noted that modernization, digitalization, human capital development, and strengthening the healthcare economy are among the state's priority issues.
Teymur Musayev also reminded that in November of this year, Azerbaijan will host the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change - COP29: “The head of state emphasized that the decision to hold COP29 in our country, made with the unanimous support of the international community, testifies to the great trust in Azerbaijan.”
In conclusion, the Minister of Health of Azerbaijan expressed hope for further fruitful cooperation.

In turn, Yuriy Husyev expressed gratitude to the Azerbaijani state for the humanitarian aid provided to Ukraine. Emphasizing the high level of bilateral relations, the Ambassador noted that there are historical, traditionally friendly relations between our countries. Noting the importance of COP29, Yuriy Husev emphasized that Azerbaijan always hosts and organizes international events at the highest level.
The diplomat noted that there is great potential for expanding cooperation with the Ministry of Health of Azerbaijan and its subordinate institutions. Yuriy Husev also thanked for organizing the rehabilitation course for Ukrainian children in Baku.
During the meeting, the importance of medical education and the training of qualified personnel in this field, as well as the exchange of experience between medical universities, was emphasized.
