The delegation of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan is participating in the 77th session of the World Health Assembly
The opening ceremony of the 77th session of the World Health Assembly is being held on May 27 at the headquarters of the World Health Organization (WHO) in Geneva, Switzerland. The theme of this year's Health Assembly is "Health for All: 75 years of improving public health."
The Republic of Azerbaijan is represented at the Assembly by a delegation led by Minister of Health Teymur Musayev.
During the 77th session, the World Health Assembly will review the draft work program for 2025-2028, strategy for the eradication of tuberculosis and poliomyelitis, a roadmap for combating neglected tropical diseases, measures to protect health in changing climate conditions, and other current issues.
The attention of representatives of 194 states invited to the main annual forum of the World Health Organization will also be focused on the work ongoing since 2021 on an agreement on the prevention of pandemics.
It should be noted that within the framework of the session of the World Health Assembly, Minister of Health Teymur Musayev will speak at the plenary session, it is planned to hold bilateral meetings with health ministers of member countries and other working events.
The 77th session of the World Health Assembly will conclude on June 1. The Health Assembly is the supreme decision-making body of WHO that determines its policies.
