A meeting was held at the Ministry of Health of Azerbaijan with Sofia Shakil, the Director of the Human Capital and Social Development Department of the Central and West Asia Sector Group of the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
Welcoming the guests, Minister of Health Teymur Musayev noted the productive cooperation between Azerbaijan and the Asian Development Bank: "Over the past years, joint regional cooperation has been dynamically developing."
In speech, Teymur Musayev emphasized that the use of advanced technological solutions is the basis for healthcare reforms: "Improving the healthcare system, especially its digitalization and human capital development, is a priority issue for our country."
According to the minister, cooperation with the Asian Development Bank in various fields is of particular importance in terms of advanced international experience. Therefore, the Ministry of Health of Azerbaijan is interested in expanding cooperation with the Asian Development Bank.
In turn, ADB Department Director Sofia Shakil thanked for the warm welcome and expressed support for the innovative reforms being implemented in the healthcare system of our country. Sofia Shakil noted that the Asian Development Bank has developed a Country Partnership Strategy (CPS) with Azerbaijan for 2024-2028. According to her, this document outlines the long-term priorities of the partnership between ADB and Azerbaijan, including goals for cooperation in the healthcare sector. Sofia Shakil also emphasized that the Asian Development Bank is always ready to assist the healthcare sector of Azerbaijan.
During the meeting, opinions were exchanged on potential areas of cooperation during the next CPS period and on other issues of mutual interest.
