Azerbaijan has been selected as a member of the WHO Regional Evaluation Group
The 73rd session of the European Regional Committee of the World Health Organization s being held in Astana. Our country is represented at the session by a delegation led by the Minister of Health of Azerbaijan, Teymur Musayev.
Within the framework of the 73rd session of the European Regional Committee of the World Health Organization, the selection of members to the WHO Regional Evaluation Group took place. As a result of the election, Azerbaijan was appointed as a member of WHO Regional Evaluation Group. Our selection as a member of the Regional Assessment Group is a successful result of Azerbaijan’s close and efficient cooperation with a prestigious organization such as the World Health Organization.
The selection of our country as a member of the Regional Assessment Group of the WHO further strengthens the decision-making position of Azerbaijan in this organization and expands the possibilities of future activities.
The Regional Evaluation Group contributes to the evaluation of WHO’s activities. The group plays an important role at WHO in improving evaluation activities, increasing accountability for results and promoting the organization’s research work. Thus, the Group also aims to provide accountability and facilitate the learning of practices for the results obtained during the use of evaluation resources. In addition, the activities of the Regional Assessment Group also influence decision-making.
It should be noted that the evaluation, determination of criteria and shortlisting of candidates for the position of regional director of the WHO European Regional Committee are also carried out by this Group.
