Medical College No. 1 in Baku has a history of more than a century. According to documents in the archive of the medical school, based on the order of the mayor of Baku dated August 28, 1902, the search request from the central archive of the Azerbaijan SSR dated October 29, 1930, No. 100/838, an article published in the newspaper "Bakinskiy Rabochiy" on August 29, 1923, under number 193/921, and based on the memories of former teachers and graduates, the midwifery school was established in 1902 near the city maternity hospital No. 1 (present-day Azizbeyov Maternity Hospital).
In the process of integrating into world science, the status of Medical School No. 1 was changed to Medical College No. 1 in accordance with the order of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated June 25, 2010, No. 47. The college consists of spacious, well-lit rooms, an assembly hall, a library, a dining hall, and green areas. Currently, Medical College No. 1 in Baku has over 1700 students, around 250 teachers and administrative staff, and operates the Trade Union Committee, the Student Committee, and the Student Youth Organization.
