Azerbaijan Medical University is a scientific and educational center that unites thousands of students and professionals in healthcare, as well as scholars, contributing to the advancement of public health. The teaching process here is directly related to scientific research and achievements in healthcare. Azerbaijan Medical University (AMU) was established in 1930 based on the medical faculty of Baku State University (BSU). Therefore, our university, considered the successor of BSU's medical faculty, boasts nearly a century-long history.
Operating for over half a century, Azerbaijan Medical University stands as the largest hub of scientific and medical advancement in Azerbaijan, equipped with a rich material and technical base, teaching facilities, student dormitories, clinics, and laboratories. Our university's research laboratories are equipped with modern devices and tools, which enhances the importance of scientific research and creates sufficient potential in the medical field.
Alongside its existing 4 clinics, Azerbaijan Medical University has 6 teaching buildings, an administrative building, and a 1700-bed student dormitory. A modern 11-storey teaching building alone can accommodate 2500 students. Here, the university houses several theoretical departments, an internet center, a unique library with a collection of nearly a million books, and the "Təbib" publishing house.
