The National Oncology Center serves as the main coordination hub for scientific, methodological, and preventive work in specialized oncology care provided to the republic's population. It provides information about the diagnosis and treatment of oncological diseases to people from the Baku Oncology Dispensary, seven interdistrict oncology dispensaries (Nakhchivan, Khankendi, Sumgayit, Sheki, Mingachevir, Shirvan, Lenkeran), and around 100 oncology offices.
The Children's Oncology Clinic was established in March 2012. Currently, the clinic, which is considered the flagship institution of the National Oncology Center in the region, effectively applies methods such as chemotherapy, radiation therapy, surgical treatment, immunotherapy, and other comprehensive treatment methods. The clinic includes departments for pediatric surgery, pediatric chemotherapy, pediatric radiation therapy, pediatric anesthesiology, and resuscitation. The creation of the first children's clinic in the region by the National Oncology Center was a significant gift from President Ilham Aliyev and First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva.
