A meeting was held between the health ministers of Azerbaijan and Latvia
A meeting was held at the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan with a delegation led by the Minister of Health of Latvia, Hossam Abu Meri, who is on an official visit to the country.
Welcoming the guests, Minister of Health Teymur Musayev noted that cooperation between Azerbaijan and Latvia continues successfully across various fields, including the healthcare sector. He stated that there are favorable opportunities to expand the exchange of experience in medical education, the continuous professional development of physicians, scientific research, and the implementation of innovative medical approaches.
Teymur Musayev emphasized that the digital transformation of the healthcare system is one of the key priorities of Azerbaijan’s healthcare policy and provided information on the measures being implemented in this area.
During the meeting, the parties highlighted that an Agreement on Cooperation in the Fields of Healthcare and Medical Science was signed between the relevant institutions of the two countries in 2025, marking an important milestone in the development of bilateral relations.
Latvian Minister of Health Hossam Abu Meri emphasized the dynamic development of healthcare cooperation between Azerbaijan and Latvia. He noted that such high-level meetings contribute to the advancement of healthcare systems, the expansion of the exchange of professional knowledge and experience, and the further strengthening of the partnership between the two countries.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties expressed confidence that cooperation between the Ministries of Health of Azerbaijan and Latvia would continue to develop in the future based on mutual trust and shared interests.
