A meeting with the Ambassador of Cuba was held at the Ministry of Health of Azerbaijan
A meeting was held at the Ministry of Health of Azerbaijan with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba, Carlos Enrique Valdés de la Concepción. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Azerbaijan to Cuba Ruslan Rzayev also participated in the meeting.
After welcoming the guests, Minister of Health Teymur Musayev highlighted that friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Cuba continue successfully in bilateral and multilateral formats.
The minister pointed out that the cooperation in the fields of healthcare and medical sciences, as in all areas, is exemplary: "The arrival of medical teams of Cuban specialists to our country within the framework of the measures aimed at preventing the wide spread of the COVID-19 infection in 2020 is a clear example of this. This step served to strengthen bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Cuba further."
In his speech, Teymur Musayev emphasized that Cuba's well-developed national healthcare system is recognized as one of the best in the world. According to him, the availability and training of highly qualified medical staff, innovation and medical tourism have always been the hallmark of Cuba.
In conclusion, the minister expressed his hope that the cooperation between our countries will continue to thrive.
Carlos Enrique Valdés de la Concepción noted that Cuba pays special attention to developing relations with Azerbaijan. The ambassador reminded that this year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between our countries. According to him, there are close relations between Azerbaijan and Cuba in many fields: "During the COVID-19 pandemic, the arrival of medical teams from Cuba to Azerbaijan is a clear indicator of these relations. I believe that our relations will continue to develop."
The Cuban ambassador also expressed the importance of dynamic cooperation in the field of healthcare as well as in all other areas. New prospects for bilateral cooperation in the pharmaceutical industry were also discussed during the meeting.
