"Azerbaijan- Türkiye Medical Business Forum and Exhibition" continues with panel sessions
As previously reported, with the organizational support of the health ministries of Azerbaijan and Türkiye, a two-day "Azerbaijan-Türkiye Medical Business Forum and Exhibition" is being held in Baku.
On the second day of the joint healthcare business forum, a panel session on "Research and development in healthcare, cooperation in vaccine research" was moderated by Azerbaijan's Deputy Health Minister Nadir Zeynalov. Nadir Zeynalov provided information on research and development and emphasized that both play an essential role in the vaccine preparation process. To maintain competitiveness in the market, most technological companies should focus on sustainable investment in research to develop new products and improve existing ones. In the healthcare field, it was noted that it is mainly applied in the pharmaceutical sector, and new drug formulations are introduced to the world market annually.
Rufat Hajialibeyov, Advisor to the Minister of Health on digitalization of healthcare, spoke at the panel session regarding "Digitalization of healthcare, effective service to citizens and prospects" and emphasized the healthcare system's improvement as a priority issue for our country. According to him, to implement the relevant decree of the head of state, a sub-working group, "Extending the application of digital healthcare", was created under the working group "Center for Healthcare Transformation".It was emphasized that the decree identified several priority areas, such as improving the regulatory framework in the healthcare and medical insurance field, increasing transparency and accountability, and developing digital healthcare.
At the panel sessions, reports were heard by the director of the Turkish Institute of Health (TUSEB), Erhan Akdogan, the director of the TUSEB Institute of Vaccination, Atesh Karan, the director of the Azerbaijan Institute for Medical Prevention Adil Allahverdiyev and other specialists. Following, extensive discussions were held on the topic.
