At the Ministry of Health, a meeting was held with Tobias Lorentzson, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Sweden, to our country.
Health Minister Teymur Musayev emphasized that the cooperation between our countries has developed dynamically in recent years: "Frequent meetings of heads of state, as well as mutual visits of government members, play a crucial role in the development of relations between the two countries in various fields."
The minister pointed out that there is a great potential for the development of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Sweden in the field of health care. According to him, there are all the necessary opportunities for exchanging modern methodological and scientific-practical information in the field of continuous professional education of medical specialists: "One of the universal models of health care has been created in Sweden. Many states use it as a model for creating their system of public health protection. In addition, the Swedish company Mölnlycke is one of the world's leading companies producing high-quality medical equipment."
Teymur Musayev also noted that the pharmaceutical industry of the Scandinavian country is considered one of the best in the world.
In conclusion, the minister expressed hope for further fruitful cooperation.
In turn, Tobias Lorentzson emphasized that Sweden attaches great importance to strengthening bilateral relations with Azerbaijan: "Diplomatic relations between our countries were established in 1992, and during this period, the cooperation between Sweden and Azerbaijan has been developing steadily."
Noting that special attention is paid to developing the pharmaceutical industry in Sweden, the ambassador expressed his country's interest in strengthening existing cooperation relations with Azerbaijan in the corresponding field.
At the meeting, valuable discussions were held on the expansion of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Sweden in the field of health and medical science, new perspectives of strengthening cooperation in the field of pharmaceuticals, and at the same time, the exchange of experience between national health institutions. In addition, the parties discussed the technical issues of holding an informational and educational "round table" in Baku in the spring of this year on the topic "Providing quality care to patients with genodermatosis."Azerbaijan-Sweden-CIS: exchange of experiences on providing comprehensive care to patients with epidermolysis bullosa and ichthyosis."
