A meeting was held with Luca Di Canfrancesco at the Ministry of Health, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Italy to Azerbaijan.

Welcoming the guests, Minister of Health Teymur Musayev emphasized the special role of the official visit of the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, to Italy in strengthening the strategic partnership between the two countries. He also noted the contributions of the First Vice-President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mehriban Aliyeva, whose initiatives in the humanitarian and cultural fields have helped expand cooperation.

Teymur Musayev highlighted the importance of further deepening cooperation between the two countries in the field of healthcare and stated that they are ready for practical collaboration with the Italian side.

At the end of his speech, the Minister of Health of Azerbaijan expressed confidence that cooperation will continue to further develop in the future.

In his turn, Luca Di Canfrancesco noted that diplomatic relations between our countries were established in 1992 and that, during this period, cooperation between the states of Italy and Azerbaijan has developed with positive dynamics. According to the ambassador, over the past years, Azerbaijani–Italian relations have come a long way and have risen to the level of a strategic partnership. Interest was also expressed in establishing effective cooperation with the Ministry of Health of Azerbaijan.

At the meeting, the current state and development prospects of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Italy in the field of healthcare were discussed. An exchange of views was also held on establishing cooperation in the implementation of healthcare system digitalization, as well as on issues related to pharmaceuticals, medical education, the professional development of doctors, the importance of sharing experience in healthcare management, and other matters of mutual interest.
