The 77th session of the World Health Assembly continues its work at the headquarters of the World Health Organization (WHO) in Geneva. Within the framework of the session, a delegation led by the Minister of Health of Azerbaijan, Teymur Musayev, held a series of bilateral meetings.

So, a meeting took place with the Director of the European Regional Director of the World Health Organization, Hans Henri Kluge. Meetings were also held with delegations led by the Minister of Health of Turkie, Fahrettin Koca, the Acting Minister of Health of Uzbekistan, Asilbek Khudayarov, the Minister of Public Health of Cuba, José Ángel Portal Miranda, the Minister of Health of Kazakhstan, Akmaral Alnazarova, the Minister of Health of Kyrgyzstan, Alymkadyr Beishenaliev and the Minister of Health of the Netherlands, Pio Dijskstra. Additionally, bilateral meetings were held with the Executive Director of the Stop TB Partnership, Lucica Ditiu, the Head of the Grants Management Unit of the Global Fund, Mark Edington, and the Vice President, Global Head of Government and Public Affairs at Royal Philips, Jan-Willem Scheijgrond.

During the meetings, congratulations were primarily extended to the Azerbaijani people on the occasion of the Republic Day. It was noted that in November, the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) will take place in our country, emphasizing Azerbaijan's consistent and distinguished hosting and organization of important international events.

Attention was drawn to the importance Azerbaijan places on mutual cooperation with specialized international healthcare organizations, including the World Health Organization. Confidence was expressed that initiatives crucial for public health would be successfully implemented in the future.

During the meetings with ministers of Turkic-speaking countries, the exceptional role of heads of states in developing friendly relations between our peoples was emphasized. Moreover, there is significant potential for the development of healthcare-related relations.

The importance of the "Uzbekistan-Azerbaijan Decade of Healthcare" organized in Tashkent and dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of the national leader Heydar Aliyev was highlighted. Azerbaijani medical specialists, together with their Uzbek colleagues, performed over 100 surgical operations during this event. Interest was also expressed in applying Kazakhstan's experience in accreditation and quality control of medical institutions in our country. Azerbaijan's recent experience in digital solutions in healthcare is of great interest to Kazakhstan. Prospects for Azerbaijan-Kazakhstan cooperation in the field of biological security were also discussed. Productive discussions took place on cooperation with Kyrgyzstan in the field of transplantation and the potential application of Azerbaijan's successful experience in this area.

The importance of the Azerbaijan-Cuba Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in healthcare and medical science was noted, emphasizing its role in enhancing the potential for healthcare development in both countries. At the same time, the healthcare system of the Netherlands, characterized by a combination of highly qualified physicians and modern medical institutions, is rightly considered one of the best in Europe.

During the meetings, measures taken towards the elimination of malaria in Azerbaijan were highly praised. The successful implementation of programs by Azerbaijan to combat infectious diseases, including tuberculosis, was emphasized.

A wide range of opinions was exchanged during the meetings on the use of high-tech medical equipment in Azerbaijani healthcare and other issues of mutual interest.
