The next meeting of the coordination group on the organization of medical services in the liberated territories was held at the Ministry of Health
The meeting of the coordination group, titled “Organization of Medical Services in the Liberated Territories,” took place at the Ministry of Health.
The working group was established by the relevant Order of the Ministry of Health in connection with the implementation of the tasks assigned by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan regarding the preparation of the II State Program on the Great Return and the Socio-Economic Development Strategy for 2027–2030.
The next meeting of the coordination group was presided over by Minister of Health Teymur Musayev, with the participation of representatives of relevant state institutions. During the meeting, discussions focused on the medical services organized in the territories liberated from occupation within the framework of the “I State Program on the Great Return,” as well as on the current status of monitoring and evaluation conducted regarding the existing situation.
In this regard, a presentation was delivered at the meeting on the Strategic Vision concerning the organization of public health services, emergency and urgent medical care, primary healthcare services, and specialized medical services, based on the analysis carried out by the Ministry of Health.
Within the framework of the “II State Program on the Great Return,” participants exchanged views on further improving medical services provided to the population in the liberated territories in line with the resettlement process, enhancing their quality and accessibility, and strengthening coordination among relevant institutions. Discussions also addressed the optimization of hospital bed capacity in order to ensure the efficient use of civilian and military medical infrastructure, the establishment of a logistics chain for the supply of medicines to the population, the provision of psychosocial support to the population and medical personnel, and the improvement of medical literacy.
As a result of the monitoring activities carried out, the meeting included a detailed analysis of the work undertaken and the tasks ahead in areas such as the restoration of the activities of medical institutions in the liberated territories, the expansion of mobile medical services, staffing of medical institutions, incentives for medical personnel, and infrastructure development.
Minister of Health Teymur Musayev noted in his remarks that the healthcare component of the Great Return Program is one of the priority areas and that protecting public health and ensuring the uninterrupted provision of quality medical care are among the key directions of state policy. The coordination group operates on a regular basis with the aim of strengthening coordination in this area and identifying effective solutions.
At the end of the meeting, the next steps related to the implementation of the tasks ahead were determined and relevant instructions were given.
The Ministry of Health will continue organizing medical services in the territories liberated from occupation and will take all necessary measures in this regard.
