The Turkic Medical World Congress, dedicated to the theme "Transforming global health in the post-pandemic period", continues its work in Istanbul. Today, within the framework of the international event, a meeting of the Ministers of Health of the member countries of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) was organized.

Speaking at the meeting, The Minister of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Teymur Musayev, emphasized that the event was organized at a high level and will contribute to the further development of cooperation between the countries: "The Turkic Medical World Congress, which was organized for the first time, shows that the relations between the countries have entered a new stage and developed in a multifaceted direction".

Speaking about the perspective opportunities in the health sector within the framework of the OTS, Teymur Musayev emphasized that the geographical position of the member and observer countries, demographic indicators, labor resources, qualified workforce, market size, investment conditions are essential factors to be taken into account: "Creation of a unified medical, scientific space of member countries of the Organization of Turkic States, conducting joint scientific researches, defining uniform medical education standards, ensuring continuous medical education can be considered as the starting point of our joint activity. In particular, the COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the strategic issues of fully satisfying the demand for pharmaceutical products and medical equipment in every country. In this regard, we highly appreciate the possibility of joint production of medicines and medical equipment within the organization's framework," concluded the Minister of Health of Azerbaijan.

In their speeches, the Minister of Health of Turkey, Fahrettin Koca, the Minister of Health of Kazakhstan, Ajar Giniyat, the Minister of Health of Kyrgyzstan, Gulnara Baatyrova and the Minister of Health of Uzbekistan, Bekhzod Musayev emphasized that the international event will make an essential contribution to the development of cooperation in the field of healthcare between partners from around the world. At the same time, the Turkic Medical World Congress will create an invaluable opportunity for participants to share their knowledge and experience in the healthcare field.

At the meeting, cooperation in the field of healthcare of member countries of the OTS; development of a mechanism for an alternative arrangement of their drug and vaccine needs, a study of joint production possibilities; activities related to collaborative projects, exchange of experience and training of health personnel; organization of "Joint Health Week" in OTS member states; and the organization of a joint healthcare business forum and a healthcare exhibition at the next congress were discussed.

At the same time, the country where the next congress will be held was determined at the meeting of health ministers. According to the decision, the next Turkic Medical World Congress will be held in Uzbekistan.

In the end, the final document of the Turkic Medical World Congress - Joint Declaration was adopted, and a commemorative photo was taken.
