A meeting with the delegation of the World Bank Technical Assistance Mission was held at the Ministry of Health of Azerbaijan
On October 10th, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Health of the Azerbaijan Republic with the Technical Assistance team of the World Bank.
During his welcoming speech, The Minister of Health, Dr Teymur Musayev, emphasized that Azerbaijan places a high value on the relations and cooperation with the World Bank, the most influential financial organization in the world: "Cooperation with the World Bank in various fields is of particular significance in terms of the application of advanced international practice in our country."
The minister stated that the utilization of digital technologies is the basis of reforms in the healthcare system: "Improving the healthcare system is a priority for our country."
Dr Teymur Musayev also mentioned how regular meetings between the
Ministry of Health and the World Bank team led to enhanced cooperation.
Driss M. Zine-Eddine El-Idrissi, the leading health economist of the World Bank, who expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome and hospitality, emphasized the effectiveness of the cooperation between the World Bank and Azerbaijan. Moreover, he also expressed support for the reforms carried out in the healthcare system of Azerbaijan.
It should be noted that the main objectives of the Technical Assistance team are to provide the Ministry of Health and other health authorities of the country with technical assessments and recommendations of the World Bank regarding the payment system and legislative changes necessary for e-health (e-Səhiyyə); organizing a workshop to share information on technical evaluations conducted by the World Bank team and recommendations on provider payment options and legislative changes needed for eHealth, etc.
