Teymur Yusif oglu Musayev
Minister
Teymur Musayev was born on September 16, 1970, in the city of Baku.
He began his secondary education at School No. 1 near the Consulate General of the USSR in Algeria from 1977 to 1981 and continued at School No. 189 in Baku from 1981 to 1987, graduating with honors. In 1987, he was admitted to the first year of the Medical-Prophylactic Faculty at Azerbaijan Medical University, completing his studies and receiving his diploma in 1993. He was an active member of the Student Scientific Society at Azerbaijan Medical University. On December 25, 2000, he defended his candidate dissertation and in April 2001, he was awarded the scientific degree of "candidate of medical sciences" by the decision of the Higher Attestation Commission.
From 2003 to 2004, he pursued a specialized diploma course in "laparoscopic surgery" at the University of Strasbourg 1 in France.
Between 2013 and 2015, he obtained a Master's degree in Health Management (Business Executive) from the Riga International School of Business and Economics and Riga Stadins University, graduating in May 2015.
His professional career commenced as a urologist at Polyclinic No. 16 in Baku, appointed by the Ministry of Health. He worked as a field urologist from 1994 to 1997, served as the medical director and urologist at the Baku branch of "H.T.P.-hi tec Pharm Israel" clinic from 1997 to 2001, and worked as the Deputy Director of the "Reproductive Health Program of the Republic of Azerbaijan" from 2001 to 2003.
He held various positions from 2003 to 2019, including urologist at Baku City Hospital, sequentially as a urologist, department head, deputy chief physician for medical affairs, chief physician, and medical director at the "N. Tusi Clinic." From 2015 to 2016, he served as the medical director of the Baku Dobromed Hospital, and from 2016 to 2019, he worked as the medical director at the Chenot Palace Gabala resort center. Subsequently, he practiced as a urologist at the Spero Hospital.
From April 2020 to April 2021, he held the position of Director of the Healthcare Organization Department at the Ministry of Health.
By the decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan on April 23, 2021, he was appointed the First Deputy Minister of Health and the Executor of the powers of the Minister of Health. Later, by the decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan on January 19, 2022, he was appointed Minister of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
He is married and has two children.
