The Scientific-Research Pediatric Institute in honor of K.Y. Farajov has been serving the important and noble work of protecting children's health for almost a century.
The institute was organized in 1925 on the basis of a 200-bed children's hospital, and in 1927 it was reconstructed and turned into a mother and child protection institute. Currently, the Institute, being a scientific-methodological center, carries out large-scale activities such as the training of professional medical personnel in the field of pediatrics, conducting scientific researches, improving the existing medical education, in addition to the treatment and prevention practice of children.
The institute has 8 clinical departments with 245 beds, 6 scientific departments and many paraclinical departments. The 50-bed neonatal resuscitation and intensive care department functions as a center for the republic.
