The Republic Narcology Center is a medical-preventive institution that provides specialized outpatient and inpatient narcology services and also controls the circulation of prohibited, restricted, and controlled narcotic and psychotropic substances. It oversees the import, export, transit, and production of licensed precursors within the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The center implements medical and preventive measures to prevent the onset of drug addiction, alcoholism, toxicomania, and other dependencies among drug users and alcohol abusers. It conducts expertise to assess temporary incapacity, including alcohol intoxication assessments. Additionally, it offers medical examinations and treatment for individuals referred for mandatory treatment due to alcoholism, drug addiction, and toxicomania from places of deprivation of liberty, as well as providing psychotherapeutic and ethical-moral assistance to those abusing narcotics and other psychotropic substances.
