The college operated as Medical School No. 2 from 1975 to 1987 and as Base Medical School No. 2 from 1988 to 2009. According to the decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated June 14, 2007, No. 589, and the order of the Ministry of Health dated June 18, 2007, No. 68, Medical School No. 2 was renamed Base Medical School No. 2 and was entrusted with the authority to conduct "Specialization and Improvement Courses" for middle medical workers. According to the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated June 16, 2010, No. 112, and the order of the Ministry of Health dated June 25, 2010, No. 47, Medical School No. 2 was renamed Medical College No. 2 in Baku. Currently, the college trains specialists in 7 specialties of middle medical personnel: paramedics, midwives, nurses, pharmacists, paramedic-laboratory assistants, dental technicians, and sanitary paramedics.
